Uniting Cattle Dogs Worldwide
The Cattle Dog Clubhouse is a worldwide location for Australian cattle dogs & their owners to meet. Below is a brief video introducing some of our members.
Our Brief History
Founded in 2018 by Barqs The Cattle Dog (www.barqsthecattledog.com & www.instagram.com/barqsthecattledog) from New Orleans, Louisiana, USA and Teddy Bix Garnet (www.instagram.com/teddy_bix_garnet) of Sydney, Australia. Meeting on Instagram, Teddy already had a strong following and Barqs was struggling to learn the ways of Instagram when Teddy offered to “take Barqs under his wing” and off the two of them went. Two Australian Cattle Dogs from opposite sides of the earth joining forces to unite cattle dogs from around the world.
After creating a social media presences on Instagram (www.instagram.com/cattledogclubhouse) and Facebook (www.facebook.com/groups/cattledogclubhouse) they launch “cattle dog only follow trains” and invited other cattle dog to join them. The rest is pretty much history as the team continues to look for other paths to bring cattle dogs together both online and even face to face!
The Team That Makes It Happen
Today the Cattle Dog Clubhouse administrative team has expanded to include:
Raven & Starfire a red & a blue (www.instagram.com/raven__starfire) from North Carolina, USA
Mango & Mutton a red & a blue (www.instagram.com/mango.and.mutton) from Calgary, Alberta, Canada
Bix & Pinny also a red & blue pair (www.instagram.com/bix_the_cattle_dog) from St. Louis, Missouri, USA
Riggins a white heeler (www.instagram.com/riggins_cattledog) also from St. Louis, Missouri, USA
Bolt a blue heeler (www.instagram,com/blueheelerbolt) from Houston, Texas, USA
Roxie was a cattle dog mix and the big sister to our co-founder Barqs. Roxie was Barqs’ humans companion helping her Dr. Momma through vet school and being her best friend for over a decade. When Dr. Momma got married her new Dad was a self-confessed “bird guy” and a long way from being a “dog guy”. Roxie won Daddy’s heart over and eventually had him wanting a full breed Australian Cattle Dog to call his own. That’s when Barqs joined the family. The roots of the Cattle Dog Clubhouse now trace back to Roxie so she has been named our Matriarch. She often would appear in Barqs’ social media feeds. Without Roxie there would be no Barqs, without Barqs there would be no Cattle Dog Clubhouse. Sadly, just a couple weeks before her 14th birthday on March 14, 2019, Roxie crossed the rainbow bridge. The Cattle Dog Clubhouse will always remember her contributions to the founding of our group.
